# n89 — can the framework recover G? (2026-07-10)

## The direct answer: NO — and precisely why
G is not recovered as a number, for three recorded reasons:
1. The drainage-era claim "dressed stiffness = 1/G_N" was TRANSFERRED
   by the EM reinterpretation: S_inf is now 1/e^2 (it feeds the alpha
   ballpark, not G). Gravity's strength lives in the monitored sector
   (Omega_eff = g^2|Delta|/(Delta^2+kappa^2/4)) — toy units, no bridge.
2. The units bridge (c_drag, lambda, l_s absolute) is the standing
   unbuilt organ; every class-[C] bracket awaits it.
3. The zero-freedom G prediction (old F1) was already demoted by the
   total assault (n78) to a one-unknown consistency relation.

## What exists instead: the lock, and the day it fires
G is CHAINED: gamma_knee/Omega_grav = Q (E10, exact). The day a lab
measures the knee frequency AND the saturated rate, the monitor is
pinned and G follows through the one-unknown relation; with the
alpha-anchor (n79-N2: one substrate, one matter normalization), even
that unknown closes. G-recovery is the framework's flagship PROMISE,
gated on E6 — not its current possession.

## The inverse arithmetic — done today, and it converges
Instead of predicting G, DEMAND it: for the framework to reproduce
the observed hierarchy (alpha_G/alpha = 1/Q, the n79-N1 reading,
rate-half), Q must be 1.2e36 (proton reference) to 4.2e42 (electron).
The knee then sits at Q x omega_grav(Compton scale of the reference):

    knee(proton ref)   ~ 1.0e22 s^-1   (hbar*gamma ~ 7 keV)
    knee(electron ref) ~ 5.7e18 s^-1   (hbar*gamma ~ 4 eV)

THE CONVERGENCE: the independently-derived band was
[5.2e14 (pulsar friction, class C), 1.2e23 (Coulomb ceiling)] s^-1.
The hierarchy demand lands INSIDE it — one to four orders below the
ceiling, four to seven above the floor. Three constraint sources that
share no data (binary-pulsar timing, laboratory Coulomb tests, the
G/alpha hierarchy itself) converge on the same two decades:

    THE KNEE'S PREDICTED WINDOW: ~1e19 - 1e22 s^-1 — UV TO X-RAY.

If the framework is right, the vacuum audits at X-ray rates, and the
laboratory search for motion-gated decoherence should aim at
T00-modulation in the attosecond/X-ray regime — not the optomechanics
bands originally imagined. (Consistency note: this retro-fits n86's
"knee above the PHz" from the pulsar floor alone.)

## Honesty flags, all up
- The reference-mass ambiguity spans ~3 orders (proton vs electron):
  the hierarchy is mass-dependent because gravity couples to mass;
  which mass anchors Q is a modeling choice — hence a WINDOW, not a
  point. Class [C'] (order-of-magnitude, one declared convention).
- The N1 reading itself covers only the RATE-half of the hierarchy
  (n80 amendment); the mass-scale half (why lambda*m_p is tiny in
  substrate units) remains unexplained, and this arithmetic inherits
  that gap.
- Nothing here recovers G. It recovers WHERE TO LOOK so that G would
  follow — which, for a framework whose existence gate is that same
  experiment, is the most useful thing short of the number.

One sentence: we do not have G; we have the lock that turns a future
decoherence measurement into G, and today's inverse arithmetic shows
the three independent cages already overlap on a two-decade window —
UV to X-ray — where that measurement must go hunting.
