# n71 — pre-registration: the Bath-TT heartbeat (before any new code)

**The last door.** Every static channel of the drainage vacuum is
assigned (EM) or excluded (n70). Gravity's only remaining home is the
DYNAMICAL monitored mechanism — year 1's Bath-TT — whose Newtonian
sector was measured once (n33: monitored-bath-mediated force, long
range L^+, action-reaction, closed-form NESS) and then left. What was
NEVER measured is what this week proved decisive: THE CLOCK SECTOR.
In this medium the mediator epsilon is a local field conjugate to the
clock variables — the potential is a LOCAL FIELD CLOCKS CAN TOUCH,
exactly the organ the dichotomy theorem proved the drainage never had.

## Machinery
n33's full Gaussian microscopic model, unchanged (clocks tau/eps on a
ring, damped auxiliary bath per edge, NESS by direct linear solve).
New observable: the PHYSICAL clock rate
  taudot_i = 1 + lam h_i + sqrt(2) g eta (B^T p_a^ss)_i
— the field-induced rate shift of a clock at site i in the NESS
sourced by a mass h_B.

## Gates
- R0 (machinery): reproduce n33's attraction and closed-form NESS
  (dev < 1e-5) before anything new is read.
- R1 (REDSHIFT AS A LOCAL FIELD): the rate-shift profile
  delta-taudot(x) is long-range and tracks the mediator field
  eps_ss(x) (proportional, fracRMS < 5%), and is LINEAR in the source
  strength (exponent 1.00 +- 0.05 under lam_B scan). This is the gate
  the drainage failed at every order; the local-field medium must pass
  it or the last door closes.
- R2 (UNIVERSALITY): the fractional rate shift of a test clock is
  independent of its own energy content h_t (two probe sizes, within
  5%) — the shift is a property of PLACE.
- R3 (THE SIGN PAIRING, the deep one): general relativity pairs the
  signs — attraction AND clocks slow near mass, together. In this
  medium the overall sign rides the bath detuning Delta (the year-1
  open wound: the sign was never owned). Gate: in the ATTRACTIVE
  branch (Delta > 0 per n33), clocks must run SLOW near the mass
  (delta-taudot < 0 where eps_ss is a well). If attraction pairs with
  fast clocks, the medium is anti-GR in its correlations and dies
  regardless of the free sign. Also record: Delta -> -Delta flips
  force and redshift TOGETHER or separately (together = one sign
  choice fixes all of gravity; separately = two dials = death by
  tuning).
- FLAG (not a gate, the standing wound): Delta's sign is a bath
  parameter. The info-metric lesson (n46) says vacuum-owned
  functionals can own signs; whether the monitor's detuning is
  ownable is the program's next-next question, declared.

## Honesty clauses
- Year-1 medium (relational clocks), N = 12 ring, first moments only;
  no TT tensor structure yet (this is the scalar precursor of the
  Bath-TT chain — the unimodular/Bianchi junction stays formal).
- The '1' in taudot is the co-moving convention; only RELATIVE rates
  are read.

## RESULTS (same day) — a heartbeat with a located arrhythmia
- R0 note: at Delta = +1 THIS configuration is repulsive (n33's text
  claimed attractive there; the sign rides Delta as n33 itself
  documented — the attractive branch is Delta = -1 here). Machinery
  otherwise reproduces (closed forms, linearity exponent 1.000).
- R3 — THE PAIRING, and it is general relativity's: in the attractive
  branch, clocks near the mass run SLOW. Stronger: the clock sector is
  SIGN-RIGID — flipping Delta flips the force but NOT the redshift
  (clocks slow near mass in both branches). One dial (Delta < 0)
  therefore buys attraction AND the GR sign pairing together: not two
  tunings. The year-1 sign-ownership wound remains (Delta is a bath
  parameter), but it is ONE wound, not two.
- R1 — FIRED: the redshift is SHORT-RANGED. The rate shift is deeply
  negative at the mass (clocks slow, right sign), but saturates to a
  constant by d ~ 3 while the mediator field eps_ss keeps its
  long-range profile (tracking fracRMS 14.7% vs the 5% gate; the
  structure is worse than the number: rate flat where eps varies).
  DIAGNOSIS, exact: the clock Hamiltonian H = (1 + lam h) eps gives
  taudot = 1 + lam h — the clock couples to ITS OWN energy, not to
  eps; the measured shift comes through the bath channel (B^T p_a),
  a gradient-type object, short-ranged by construction. The medium
  HAS the local potential field (eps) — the dichotomy's missing organ
  — but its clocks are not wired to it.
- THE LOCATED TARGET: GR redshift needs the clock rate to multiply
  through the potential: H ~ (1 + lam h)(1 + xi eps)-type coupling —
  whether xi is DERIVABLE in the year-1 bath derivation or must be
  inserted is now THE question of the last door (n72). If derivable:
  the door opens on all of weak-field gravity (local potential ✓,
  pairing ✓, long range ✓, redshift wired ✓). If insertable only:
  the metric is put in by hand and the two-year circle closes on the
  original wall.
- R2 deferred to n72 with the fixed wiring (universality is
  meaningless before the clock couples to the field at all).
