# n61 — pre-registration: the galactic audit crossover (before any code)

**Galaxy-scale prediction, native to the model.** The drainage field
follows its sources with lag 1/gamma_drain. Any system whose dynamics
is faster than the audit lives in a LAGGED field. Two consequences,
dimensional first:

- THE CROSSOVER SCALE: the transition between fully-drained (Newtonian)
  and lag-dominated dynamics sits at source rate ~ gamma_drain, i.e. at
  characteristic acceleration a* ~ c * gamma_drain. If n59's Lambda
  link holds (gamma ~ H0-scale), then a* ~ c H0 — THE MOND COINCIDENCE
  SCALE (a0 ~ cH0/2pi, observed), derived as a regime boundary instead
  of postulated. Registered claim: the model produces the right
  crossover SCALE. The registered question: the SIGN of what happens
  below it.
- THE WAKE FRICTION: a lagged field exerts a drag on moving sources —
  universal gravitational friction proportional to the lag. At galactic
  scales this is falsifiable NOW: observed fast bars in disk galaxies
  already constrain dynamical friction; a drainage friction stronger
  than the stellar+halo one is dead on arrival.

## Toy measurement (1D, n48 dynamics, runnable today)
Field: overdamped drainage d(dk)/dt = -gamma (dk - dk*(c(t))), info-
metric drainage map (n46). Source A: consumption F_A = 0.3 oscillating
between sites 88 and 112 (period 2pi/Omega, quasi-sinusoidal hop).
Companion B: static pair at distance d = 40 from the source's center.
Declared definitions: cross energy E_x(y,t) = dk_A(t)^T G dk*_B(y);
radial force = -(E_x(y+2)-E_x(y-2))/4, time-averaged over 3 periods
after a 5/gamma transient; drag = time-averaged tangential (along-
motion) component on A from B's static field, equivalently the
work rate on the oscillation.

## Gates
- Q1 (quasi-static anchor): Omega/gamma = 0.03: time-averaged force =
  static force within 2%.
- Q2 (the crossover): F_eff(Omega)/F_static measured at Omega/gamma =
  0.03, 0.1, 0.3, 1, 3, 10: monotone in Omega with a knee at
  Omega ~ gamma. THE SIGN IS THE RESULT: reduced attraction below
  crossover means the model REQUIRES dark matter at galactic scales
  and its MOND-scale coincidence is a boundary, not a rotation-curve
  fix; enhanced attraction would be the (unexpected) MOND-like branch.
  Either outcome is recorded as the model's galactic phenomenology.
- Q3 (friction): the lag-induced energy drain from the oscillating
  source: rate > 0, scaling as Omega^2/gamma at Omega << gamma (the
  n48 Lorentzian read as friction), saturating past the knee.
  Consequence recorded either way: fast galactic bars bound
  gamma_drain from BELOW (audit fast enough that bars don't feel the
  wake) or kill the model's galactic sector.

## Honesty clauses (before the run)
- 1D toy; only the SHAPE of F_eff(Omega/gamma) and the friction scaling
  are claimed; galactic numbers require gamma_drain, which the toy does
  not supply (n59's link is registered, not established).
- The lopsidedness wake (headstone 18) was this physics pointed at the
  wrong observable at the wrong amplitude; the pilot excluded only the
  strong-wake regime. n61 is the same physics measured properly in the
  toy before any further sky claims.

## RESULTS (same day; final monopole runs in the session record)
- Implementation note, owned: the first run used neutral DIPOLE pairs
  for both bodies — measuring the (short-range, convex) dipole-dipole
  channel, whose convexity produced a spurious 1.65 "enhancement". The
  monopole rerun (opposite-parity single consumers, as in n46) fixed
  the definitions; Q1 then anchors exactly.
- Q1 PASS: quasi-static ratio 1.0000.
- Q2 — THE SIGN IS: NEITHER. The time-averaged radial force is
  AUDIT-RATE INVARIANT to 3e-4 across Omega/gamma = 0.03..10. The lag
  phase-shifts the field; it does not change the mean attraction. In
  this linear toy the model does NOT modify rotation curves: DARK
  MATTER REMAINS REQUIRED, and the MOND-coincidence scale a* ~ c*gamma
  is a boundary of the DISSIPATIVE sector only. A clean negative
  prediction separating this model from MOND-type theories with which
  it shares the coincidence scale.
- Q3 PASS: the wake friction is real and Lorentzian: drag power rising
  as Omega^2 below the knee (measured ratios ~9.5 per 3.3x in Omega),
  knee at Omega ~ gamma, saturation above (5.1e-3 -> 9.3e-3 flattening
  by Omega/gamma = 10). UNIVERSAL GRAVITATIONAL FRICTION: every
  dynamical mass structure loses energy to the vacuum with this
  frequency profile.
- Standing astrophysical consequences: (i) rotation curves: no help —
  the model coexists with particle dark matter or dies with it;
  (ii) binary pulsars and fast galactic bars BOUND the saturated
  friction — GR's quadrupole already accounts PSR B1913+16's decay to
  ~1e-3, so any drainage drag must hide below that: a real constraint
  channel once gamma_drain has physical units (n59); (iii) the knee
  frequency of the friction is the SAME gamma as the laboratory
  decoherence knee — one parameter, three observables (gamma_PPN
  rigidity, lab knee, astrophysical friction).
