# n235 — Gate F, first breach: matter inherits the cone of its dressing

**Date:** 2026-07-12 · **The search directed by n234's catalog** (every remaining classical test hits the matter-cone wall). First dynamical computation of the wall itself: a dressed source dragged through a live field, 1D, the mechanism class isolated.

## The two findings

1. **The energy wall at the field cone.** The co-moving dressing energy grows monotonically and steeply toward the cone: E(v)/E(0) = 1 → 1.35 → 2.36 → **6.2 at v/c = 0.85** (the v = 0.95 point is transient-limited and flagged, not used). Rough scaling over the converged range: E ~ γ^~1.8 of the *field* cone's Lorentz factor. The qualitative fact is the finding: **accelerating a dressed pattern toward its dressing's cone costs diverging energy — relativistic kinematics emerges with the field cone as matter's cone, by the oldest mechanism in physics (Lorentz's electromagnetic mass, here as the vacuum's dressing mass).**
2. **Beyond the cone: the vacuum brakes.** At v/c = 1.3 the trail energy explodes (×50 the subsonic scale) — Cherenkov radiation into the field channel, i.e., drag. Superluminal-vs-dressing motion is not forbidden; it is *taxed until it stops*.

## The consequence for the successor (the P3′ §5.3 danger, resolved at mechanism level)

The multi-cone worry was: matter might ride the fast bare-substrate cone (c_s = 1) while the force channels sit at ~0.6·c_s — making ordinary particles Cherenkov-radiate into gravity/EM catastrophically. The mechanism computed tonight inverts that: **matter is its dressing** (the theory has said so since the beginning — a particle is a consumption pattern *plus* the k-deformation it drags), and the dressing propagates on the k-cones. So dressed matter's kinematic ceiling is the *common* cone c_g = c_EM (equal at the pinned member, n219/n224) — not the substrate cone. Matter, light, and gravity all live on one cone; the bare substrate speed becomes an unobservable internal parameter, exactly as the theory needs. **Vacuum Cherenkov: dissolved, conditionally** — the condition being that *all* matter attributes are dressing-borne (no bare-substrate coupling survives in observables), which is the honest remaining statement of Gate F.

## Scope, plainly

1D scalar field; the source dragged (imposed kinematics), not dynamical; one mechanism isolated, not the glass two-ledger model end-to-end; the exponent is not clean (transient-limited at high v). The full Gate F still owes: a *dynamical* test body (self-consistent motion under its own dressing drag), the two-ledger version, and the composite-pattern (charged/neutral) cones compared. But the wall exists, it sits at the field cone, and it pushes in the right direction at every point computed.

**Class: [A-model, 1D mechanism class, scope declared]; the cone-inheritance reading [B — the night's structural result]; the Cherenkov dissolution [conditional, condition named].**
