# n160 — the orphan audited: 157.19 demoted, the two EM debts merge
# (2026-07-11. The assault on the orphan found no owner - it found
# that the orphan itself was a ghost.)

## AUDIT 1 — the premise died and nobody propagated (the catch)
The natural point alpha^-1 = S_inf/pi rested on e_bare = 2pi - THE
COMPACT WINDING UNIT (n123). Headstone 32 established that winding
is NOT electric charge. The n133 freeze - designed to prevent
normalization games - also preserved the dead premise's number.
157.19 IS NOT "UNEXPLAINED"; IT IS UNFOUNDED. Demoted from the
parameter card's "computed" to "characterization pending the
coupling derivation". (Propagation failures after headstones are now
a named audit class - this is the second, after n134's scope sweep.)

## AUDIT 2 — the last owner-candidate on the charge side, dead
Extremal dressing (minimize mass at fixed staggered charge, budgets
>= 0): the saturating pattern lives on one sublattice, so its
far-field charge equals its full staggered sum - form factor f = 1
EXACTLY. No dressing correction exists on the charge side.

## AUDIT 3 — the comparison target was also wrong (the running)
alpha runs. The substrate value should be compared to alpha^-1 at
the SUBSTRATE scale (> 4.6e10 GeV): ~95-125 (matter-content
dependent), not 137.036. The honest gap between S_inf/pi and its
true target is 25-40%, not 14.7% - the naive IR comparison
flattered the chain. Any future alpha computation in this framework
must aim at ~120, not at 137, and deliver the running through the
matter sector to reach 137 at IR.

## THE MERGE (the constructive outcome)
The alpha normalization question and the minimal-coupling debt are
THE SAME COMPUTATION: derive how the billing phase of a charged
pattern couples to the staggered Gauss mode (the framework's
Lorentz force). That single derivation fixes the bare vertex, hence
alpha_substrate, hence - with the matter sector's running - the IR
137.036. EM's remaining program is therefore ONE page: minimal
coupling. Everything else in the sector is done (statics, photon
audit, Alice quantization) or explicitly matter-sector (beta
function, g-2).
