# n117 — the Big Bang, interrogated
# (2026-07-11; the framework is officially SILENT on cosmological
#  dynamics — no FRW, no expansion history. This note records what the
#  structure FORCES anyway, with classes. Toy: n117_geometrogenesis.py)

## The inversion (the only move the framework has, and it is a good one)
In GR the Big Bang is a curvature singularity: geometry blows up, and
since geometry is fundamental, physics ends there. Here geometry is
DERIVED — distance is the correlation/resistance structure of the
substrate. So the singularity is a property of the emergent
description, not of the object. The question "what happened before
the Big Bang?" becomes "what was the substrate doing before it had a
geometry?" — which is a regular question about a regular object.
THE SUBSTRATE HAS NO BEGINNING; GEOMETRY HAS ONE.

## The toy result (B1-B3, all PASS, same morning)
Model: 256 sites; cosmic parameter t dilutes all non-neighbor
couplings from 1 (fully connected) to 0 (pure lattice). Distance =
the statics' own resistance metric.
- B1 NO SINGULARITY: at t = 0 every distance is finite and TINY
  (max R = 0.0087): the "initial point" of cosmology is the
  fully-connected phase — everything adjacent to everything, all
  distances ~ 0, yet a perfectly regular finite object. The point
  was never a point; it was a complete graph.
- B2 EXPANSION: mean distance grows monotonically under dilution.
  Expansion is not things flying apart IN space — it is the graph
  getting sparser: DISTANCE ITSELF being created.
- B3 GEOMETRY CRYSTALLIZES LATE AND FAST: far/near distance ratio
  sits at ~1.00 (no geometry: strangers as close as neighbors)
  until t ~ 0.9, then jumps to 4.8 at t = 1. Locality is a LATE,
  sharp phase transition, not a gradual development.
- UNREGISTERED OBSERVATION (recorded, not claimed): the expansion
  RATE accelerates violently in the last stage (mean R: 0.36 -> 1.5
  on the final step) — the last decorrelations create the most
  distance. A built-in late-time acceleration, in a toy with no
  dark-energy input. Class [toy]; parked next to the Lambda sector
  with a flag, not a wire.

## The readings (each with its class)
1. THE BANG = IGNITION OF THE AUDIT [reading]. Gravity is the
   monitoring response; before monitoring, no gravity, no billing,
   no clocks-as-billing. The cosmological arrow of time IS the
   measurement arrow (the framework's only T-breaking). The Big
   Bang is when the vacuum started keeping books.
2. EXPANSION = DEDENSIFICATION [toy, above]. The hot early phase is
   the connected phase; cooling = edge dilution; the CMB's
   homogeneity is not a puzzle needing inflation — "far" regions
   WERE adjacent, because adjacency, not distance, is fundamental.
   The horizon problem presupposes that distance always existed.
3. MATTER IS OLDER THAN DISTANCE [reading, n115 branch]. Handles
   are adjacency structure — pre-geometric. If matter = topology,
   matter predates geometry: the handles were in the graph before
   the graph had distances; geometry crystallized AROUND matter.
   Baryogenesis = the surgery epoch: the era when the pump was hot
   enough to rewire topology; b1 froze when it cooled (why matter
   is conserved NOW — and why creation/annihilation needs
   accelerator energies: local re-heating to surgery temperature).
4. DARK MATTER = RELIC HANDLES [C, echo]. Defects frozen at the
   crystallization transition: massive (bill-carrying), neutral
   configurations interacting through the residual — an echo of
   prediction 10's self-interacting DM, arrived at from the
   opposite direction. Flagged, not wired.

## Prior art (the reflex)
- Konopka, Markopoulou & Smolin 2006-2008, "quantum graphity":
  geometrogenesis — hot phase = complete graph, locality emerges by
  cooling. Our toy is graphity's move run inside OUR statics (the
  resistance metric IS the framework's distance). The new part is
  the composition: geometrogenesis + the audit (ignition arrow) +
  topological matter (handles predate geometry) + the billing
  clock. Wheeler's pregeometry is the grandfather of all of it.
- CDT phase transitions, string gas cosmology: adjacent programs.

## What the structure forces onto the record
- LAMBDA IS RIGID SINCE IGNITION: the bill is set by the pump's
  operating point, not by an evolving field — the DESI stance
  (prediction 11) is not opportunism, it is structural.
- PREDICTION 24 (promoted to the page): NO INFLATON. The horizon
  problem is dissolved pre-geometrically; the framework has no
  inflaton sector and needs none. Therefore no nearly-scale-
  invariant primordial tensor spectrum: r stays null in CMB-S4 and
  LiteBIRD, forever. (Transition GWs from crystallization are not
  excluded — but they are not the inflaton's spectrum.) KILL: a
  confirmed detection of the inflationary B-mode spectrum.
- HONESTLY SILENT, still: nucleosynthesis, recombination, n_s and
  the seed spectrum (the substrate fluctuations at crystallization
  are not computed), H0, the expansion history a(t) quantitatively.
  The toy's t is not yet anybody's clock.

## ADDENDUM (2026-07-11, after headstones 32-33)
Reading 3 ("matter is older than distance") RESCOPED: proven-shaped
for the DARK sector (windings are pre-geometric adjacency structure,
n134-138); OPEN for the visible sector — electric charge is NOT a
winding (headstone 32), so visible matter's topological identity is
an open question again. The bang-as-ignition, dedensification, and
no-inflaton readings are unchanged; the no-inflaton leg is now
LOAD-BEARING for the dark sector too (the undiluted KZ relic, n136).
