# n103 — the existence of antiparticles (2026-07-10)

QFT FORCES antiparticles (negative-frequency modes + causality:
Feynman-Stueckelberg) but does not explain what they ARE. The audited
vacuum derives their existence from its oldest structural fact and
rejects the century-old ontology on the way.

## 1. Existence, derived: antimatter is the other sublattice
The substrate is bipartite — the same fact that produced two charge
signs (n69), the charge<=mass inequality (n90), and C as sublattice
swap (n97). Consequence: FOR EVERY DRESSING THERE EXISTS ITS MIRROR
on the opposite parity class — identical smooth total (mass),
opposite staggered component (charge). Antiparticles exist because
the lattice has two interleaved halves. The equal-mass opposite-charge
twin is not a symmetry postulate; it is the floor plan.

## 2. The exact properties, each already tested
- m(antiparticle) = m(particle) EXACTLY (the audit is C-even):
  BASE q/m at 1.6e-11 ✓ (rolling — prediction 19c).
- Spectra identical (dark states protect both sublattices equally):
  ALPHA antihydrogen 1S-2S at 1e-12 ✓.
- GRAVITY IDENTICAL — antimatter falls DOWN with the same g (mass =
  smooth consumption, sublattice-blind): ALPHA-g 2023 measured
  antihydrogen falling at (0.75 +- 0.29)g — consistent ✓.
PREDICTION 20: every future antimatter free-fall and clock test
agrees with matter exactly; kill: any confirmed antimatter gravity
or spectral anomaly of vacuum origin.

## 3. The ontology rejected: no particles travel backward in time
Feynman-Stueckelberg reads antiparticles as negative-frequency
particles moving backward in time — a picture that CANNOT be ontology
in this framework: the audit's Lindblad arrow is constitutive
(n97) — nothing evolves backward, anywhere, ever. Antimatter is
SPATIAL structure (the other half of the lattice), not temporal
structure. C is a place-swap, not a time-flip. The framework thus
takes a clean side in a hundred-year interpretive ambiguity: in a
universe with a fundamental arrow, antimatter must be somewhere, not
somewhen.

## 4. Annihilation, in the billing reading [R, flagged]
Particle meets its sublattice twin: opposite charges attract (n46),
the staggered components cancel, and the two subscriptions close —
the maintenance flow that upheld both dressings is released as free
Gauss-mode waves (photons). Pair creation is the inverse: a photon's
energy opens two subscriptions at once, one on each sublattice (the
charge<=mass bound paid per twin). Energy books balance because the
bill's flow is conserved. [Same epistemic class as n102's billing
language: exact equations underneath, interpretive gloss on top.]

## 5. The baryon asymmetry, honestly parceled
Why more matter than antimatter? Sakharov needs: B violation, C/CP
violation, non-equilibrium. The framework's ledger: (i) C/CP
violation — NOT from the vacuum (C-even, P-even; the matter-sector
assignment of n97 stands); (ii) NON-EQUILIBRIUM — STRUCTURAL AND
PERMANENT: a measuring vacuum is never at equilibrium (the pump).
Where standard cosmology must borrow a transient departure from
equilibrium, this framework's universe has never been at equilibrium
for one instant. One Sakharov condition is the vacuum's constitution;
the other two are the missing matter sector's debt. FLAGGED, PARKED:
whether the pump's microphysics is exactly sublattice-symmetric is
open — a C-breaking pump would be a vacuum-origin asymmetry source,
and also a vacuum-origin CP leak that kaon physics would bound hard.
Not claimed; named.

## One sentence
Antimatter exists because the vacuum's lattice has two interleaved
halves — every particle's twin lives across the street, not backward
in time; they weigh the same because the audit cannot tell the
streets apart, they annihilate by closing two subscriptions into
light, and the eternal disequilibrium that lets a universe prefer one
street is the vacuum's own metabolism — permanently on, because
measuring never stops.
